Eric posted my link above and considering I've had both setups, I definitely advocate going for the X2.

Not only are scores identical at standard res tests (like 3dmark06) but at high res, the X2 pulls away due to its extra RAM.

Also, the fan control actually works on it without modifiying ACE profiles (which you need to do with the 4870's)
