Wouldn't two 7800GTXs in SLI outperform a 6800Ultra? Twice as much? Ya, cuz two 6800Ultras would be twice as much, so two 7800GTXs must outperform the 6800 Ultra.

So, I would think the dual 7800GTXs would score about a 55-65

mathematically true but technically no. you just can double up the numbers like that especially if they are scores if you take per say a 10k score of 3dmark and a 5k score of 3dmark the 10k scorer isn't 2x better than the 5k scorer they are other factors to that. even if you right about this there is a reason to why people use those mayb is the ram... mayb it has functions that the gamer cards don't have

yo people, i've seen this guy mod his 6800ultra into a quadro fx, and his rendering in pro programms was like 3 fold, but in 3dmark05 he got 17 points less then an ultra. The cards are the same chip, they have the same capabilities, but their use is intended for different purposes.
