So here's the story.
__________________I have Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (DX9.0c), and a Powercolor Radeon HD2400 Pro (OCed by me ). I was thinking about getting a HD4650, until I saw a used XFX Geforce 7950GX2 on sale for $90, then a question came to my head. The question was...will a DX10 card do me any good considering the fact that I don't have Vista which has DX10? Wouldn't that mean that I would be better off with the Geforce?

skullzaflare is right there is no competition in the older dx9 cards compared to todays dx10 cards and some are much cheaper too

Get a newer card. A 4830 should be about $100.

7950gx2 is a crappy card before taking into account that it microstutters.

I agree with evryone else here. You will see a difference in a newer card. See Skullz post, a 320mb is better than a 7950GX2. The most i would pay for a 7950GX2 is like 50-60, no more than that though.

Well if you want a good card that will play anything you throw at it you can get a 9800 gt for $114.99 & $94.99 after MIR here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130397

.I'm in Canada, I was just a bit confused because the 7950GX2 is SLI in a single card.

7950GX2 is a little worse than a GTS 320. But the GTS 320 is still a much better buy. DX10 support, unified shaders, single GPU.
