I had an ATI x1950 Pro 512mb, and long story short, it got burned out.
__________________Now I'm looking for a new card, something that is a bit better for under $200. However, the problem I've been having is, that when it was in my computer there was under an inch or so of space between it and where my hard drive is. After asking several of the "professionals" at Best Buy, Circuit City, and Comp USA, they all said the same thing. That anything 8800 and over won't fit without me buying a new case. Does anyone know if it's true, and if so what are some cards I can get that would be around the same size as the x1950 Pro?

I'd really prefer new so I can get some kind of warranty on it. I only need one card since I only have one PCI-E slot.

Well if you have a mid-tower, usually newer gfx cards (i.e 8800+) will fit, but if with your x1950 you had so little space, maybe a new case wouldn't be a bad investment. . .this could all be a great excuse to completely deck out your set-up!

Well, the card got burned out by my mom on accident and $200 is all we can afford at most.
__________________Trust me, if I had the money I'd be decking this out with the best I could get. ![]() But a new case may have to be in the equation. Generally what should I look for in those and how much do they run for?

The computer is about 2 years old and my past cards have just been labeled "PCI-Express". Is there a way to tell?
