Just get the 4850

Folding is using your GPU to simulate protein folding.
In a nutshell: Stanford University made a program that can run on anyones computer, and send results back to them. Folding usually works better on Nvidia cards at the moment.

the 4850 is but not by much

if you like AA then get it - you probably should, but it won't be bad if you go for the 9800GT anyways, there is really not that much between the 2

4 people voted 9800GT? Considering the HD4850 is on par with the 9800GTX+, there is serious fanboyism going around. The 4850 will smash the 9800GT especially once you start feeding it AA.

4850 for gaming, 9800GT for folding.

4850. Better than 9800GT at stock and OC's much further. Heck, an 4830 OC'd is better than a 9800 GT OC'd. Anyone who tells you other wise:

Is a vehement nVidia fan boy
Or
A person who focuses more on folding.

Yep, this guy's right. the ATi 4850 is much better then the 9800GT

Whoever voted for the 9800gt need to leave until they can think without "TWIMTBP" running through their head every 3 seconds.

4850 will own a 9800gt

Does Ati drivers have a digital vibrance kind of thing like nvidia does? Because i really like that. The 4850 would crush my 9600 gt?
