Default Radeon HD 4850 or 9800 GT

Which of these cards is the better of the two? And which one would perform better in such games like Crysis , Bioshock , Cod4 and finally Gta4.

I cant make up my mind! Ive always went with nvidia in the past , i think im scared to try something new... But it might be interesting.

These are the 2 cards im looking at

4850

4850 hands down. The extra processors in teh 4850 have a better time with AA and AF is enabled compared to the low processor count in the 9800GT. I don't have any benchmarks on hand, but the 4850 does beat the 9800GT no problem.

4850 is better than 9800GT but as rduffy123 said, 9800GT for the fold.

I can usually get all very high with Crysis on my system with about 20 fps average. Drop a couple settings down to high and bump up the AA and it works awesome. Your processor is better than mine so you should do even better, as I think that holds me back a bit.

Like the OP sad hard core gaming meaning no folding then its 4850. Also last i used my 4850 to fold was back in November and i would get ~ 4200PPD overclocked. Now that i fold with 8800GS ~ 8800GT performance when OC i only get ~ 3700PPD max. I dont see 8800GT being much better at all for folding then 4850.

4850. Better than 9800GT at stock and OC's much further. Heck, an 4830 OC'd is better than a 9800 GT OC'd. Anyone who tells you other wise:

Is a vehement nVidia fan boy
Or
A person who focuses more on folding.
