Default Need help picking a tuner card

I'm building a pc for a friend and since I've never used or owned a tuner card I'm not sure what to get. It will be used for playing cable/satellite via coax cable and possibly HD-DVD through a HD4850 GPU into a 26" widescreen high-def LCD. A remote(MCE if not too costly) and FM tuner would be nice as long as the card isn't too expensive. I'm looking at PCIe x1 tuner cards at newegg.com but I'm not sure if PCIe x1 and PCI would make much difference. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Weird because I'd think otherwise based on the reviews, albeit newegg.com reviews.

You might be looking in the wrong section, there is a whole section dedicated to tuner cards. The one you linked doubles as a video card.

I'm going to get one eventually, I'm just trying to figure out which one to get. I have no experience with them either.

I would go for any tuner with the Ati Wonder 650 chipset. PCI vs. PCIe in this instance doesn't make a difference. Use whatever one fits the extra slot you have.
