Default ATI or NVIDIA??

ii recently fried my 9600gt which wasn't very impressive. so ineed to purchase a new card, what is the most overclockable video card with the best performance for around 150??

GTS250/9800GTX+ or a 4850 From ATI

Both perform similarly and are in the same price range.

The 4850 is the best card for $150, if you want to spend just a bit more you can get the GTX 260 SP 216 or the 4870 which I both recommend especially since you have a nice CPU to pair up with.

ya thats the contendors in my book as well. i was thinkin ati for reasons of pairng the mobo +cpu. what about the 9800 gx2? it's a little more but i could foot the bill if it's worth it

nvidia! coz i'm a fanboy! lol

that asus 4870 is your best bang for buck, and it has a good non reference cooler in case you are traumatized

I have that card, and I'd recommend it over any Nvidia card, but that's because I'm cheap...
