Default 8800gts 512mb

Currently I have it overclocked to 750/1050 useing evga percision and I get around 50c with 50 percent fan. I was wondering if it will hurt the card at all if i downclock the core to 505 the lowest it can go just to save the card while im not gaming or its in a good amount of use to take the heat from it? Would that be a smart idea?

Nah, no need to go that low. I would just set it back to stock settings if you are worried. It is made to run at stock settings, so that would probably be the best. I have heard people say they get stability issues if the underclock their GPU too far.

Underclocking to 500 shouldn't hurt it. ATi card usually underclock to that when in 2D mode.

Well i was pretty sure it wouldnt hurt it but the jump from 500 going back to 750 for usage if its putting stress on it. Just to keep the temps down its at like 47 now. Thanks anyways just wondering.

Just save the overclock setting in EVGA precision. Use it only when you play games, not really a need to start overclock at start-up. That is what I do.
