Default Can I pick which programs send sound over HDMI?

Hey everyone. I hooked up my 4850 to my HD TV through the DVI to HDMI adapter and it works great! But my only problem is that the only program that plays sound through my PC speakers is iTunes. Other programs such as games and Winamp send it to the TV, which I do not want. Basically the only thing I want to send audio to my TV is VLC player or another DVD/Blu ray program.

So basically, is there any way I can choose which programs send sound over HDMI?

Catalyst 9.4 driver btw.

right click your volume control
play back devices
select your default play device.

or you can go to options in whichever program you use and select the play back device from there.

Yea make your speakers/soundcard the default output/playback device. Then you should be able to choose in the VLC options and most other programs that output sound which device you want them tho send the sound to.

Good luck.
