I’m building a new I7 system what has 2 core functions.
__________________To give me the best system to kick all your asses in gaming. ![]() This Pc’s primary function is to be a simulation server for our Lighting pre-programming studio. So to get the best result I think we are going to go with 3 GTX 295 for graphic’s. These are my questions: 1- is it possible to do 3x gtx 295 or should I go for 3x Gtx 285. (Because this Pc is going to make more money than it will cost, money is not the primary factor in our hardware choice, we are looking for performance). PS: We do Lighting simulation and not Nasa space simulation (meaning we don’t have NASA budgets). Unfortunately. ![]() 2- My first Idea was to go for the EVGA Classified motherboard because they have 3x 16 pci but then I just noticed the new Asus Super Pc with 7 pci slots. 3x 16 + 3x 8 + 1x 1. So my main question is what is the deal with SLI ? is it possible to run 6 Graphic cards on this machine (2x 3-way SLI). This would be interesting for me so that I could use one SLI setup to run a 30” monitor and user the second SLI setup to run a HD projector. or a other situation: What ever we do, it’s going to be a task to cool al this stuff so would this be a option ? 3xgtx 295 SLI for primary monitor + 2x GTX 295 SLI for secondary monitor + 1 crapy cheap card with a small (low res) monitor to show system stats. ? Please help me understand the world of graphic’s. Thank you all. PS: Sorry for my poor English.

Greetings.
![]() Read Here for information on SLI. Personally I would not run Tri-SLI; I would run SLI GTX285's or GTX 265's.. but that is just a personal preference to cost and my income.

There are some people having trouble with the 295s in SLI let alone Tri-SLI, and plus I heard that TRI-SLI 285s beat quad SLI 295s but I doubt they set that up right lol. And I'm not sure what you mean by 6x SLI, if you mean 3x9800GX2s then no.

Hi there
. You cannot tri-SLI a GTX 295's because that'd be 6 GPUs and DirectX for now can only use 4.The ultimate gaming setup is 4 4890's (Very hard to do) or Tri-SLI GTX 285's.

Because of this I was not aware that SLI supports multiply monitors these day's so my Idea was to set up 2 SLI rigs (3 cards for monitor A and a other set of 3 cards for monitor B) but that's totally unnecessary now SLI supports dual output. (Thank you for this info Syrillian) I think I will go for 3 GTX 285 (2GB) if nobody can convince me of a better system. The only problem I have now is that I can't find any full water blocks for the GTX 285 !!! 2GB !!!! And I'm not sure yet if I will go for the EVGA Classified or the ASUS supercomputer mobo.(love the idea of having the extra PCI slots) so now it is waiting for some good reviews and benchmarks of the supercomputer to come out.
