Funny thing is a friend of mine had a similar setup, exact mobo, cpu, ram but a 4870 and he let me overclock his CPU and I managed to get 4.57Ghz on a Asus Lion Square cooler and a Haf 932 case.

That should be a solid build, very nice.

Looks great you should be happy with that for a while.
The stock HS will do, but It wont be to long before you are itching to OC that bad boy some more and need a better one. Good news is that they are not too expensive.

You don't have a terrible system, but if I were you I'd put in a 2x2GB kit of ram and a GTS 250, or something similar. 9800GTs are ~$100 each on newegg right now, so if you're looking to upgrade on the cheap, that's the way to go.

Yeah the problem with this is that PC3200 RAM is so freaking expensive. Not really worth it imo. I really think its more value to just rebuild my system. Just realized the other day that I had this system put together in April of 2006, so I would say its a it outdated.

Here's a way to help

I have a x2 4800 939 and a 9600 GT right now on a 450 watt PSU.

For my setup i always compare it to my DIY brother's

Q6600 and 8800 GT

I probably should have a lesser GPU to better balance the x2 4800 like the GSO but i don't mind going a little higher up on the GPU hiearchy (according to Toms HArdware Guide), but as long as i don't get a 8800 GT or better like my brother's, then it's perfect for me as i do play GTA 4 and TF 2.

My advice for the x2 3800, get a 4670 or 9600 GSO since your CPU is slower than mine

So I talked to the wife and got the approval for going a bit over budged. I will go ahead and build this one that I posted about. Now just gotta wait for my poker site to send me my check and then I am going to order the parts.
