the 4870 is starting to seem more tempting although like I said in a few other threads I have heard horror stories with drivers and read a lot of problems on WoW with artifacts and crashes. I haven't had any experience with ATI since the AGP 8X days so I'm rather out of the loop for how they are now.

Thats a bit out of my budget and I don't drink beer or eat fast food, but I'm also unemployed so I have to be very tight with my money.

I'm resurrecting this thread again because of the fact that I think the 9800GT that EVGA sent me to replace the 8800GT that replaced my original 7950GT KO Superclocked is dead as well. I'm going to be calling EVGA and trying to figure out what the deal is. I really wish I had jumped on the deal you linked to me DeadSkull.

A couple questions I hadn't asked when I first made this thread is wouldn't a 4890 be bottlenecked with my CPU? Although I do plan to upgrade to a 955BE once I get a job again (I hate this economy ) I also wanted to know how people felt about spending the extra money for a factory OC'd card vs buying a standard card and OCing it yourself. I do like the cooler on the Toxic vs the reference cooler on the standard card though.

I also wanted to know what people think about me going with a cheaper card for now like a 4870 Toxic since the monitor I have now runs at 1680x1050 and any 4890 would probably be wasted at that resolution. I do ultimately plan to CF 2 4890 Toxic cards in the future with a new monitor as well once I get a job and I'm not on unemployment.
