Default looking into upgrading

I've got a little extra cash and am looking into the possibility of upgrading my current 8800GT (when it arrives back from RMA since the first one I believe was DOA) and keeping it as a backup

If I do upgrade I'm looking for something in the 150-160 range. Also would 2 3870s outperform a single GTX260?

Just FYI this machine will primarily be used to play WoW, yeah yeah I know laugh away. I just want it to be able to have my machine take any situation the game throws at it and just laugh if possible.

2xHD3870's will beat a 8800/9800GT, but you would be better off getting an HD4870, as it'll perform better than a dual card setup most of the time.

More specifically the PowerColor HD4870

150 bucks? Go with an XFX HD 4870 1GB.

No, 2 3870s will not beat a GTX 260. they will barely outperform the 4850.

I'd sell the 8800gt and put the money towards a 4890. They're worth the extra $.

Well no point in selling the 8800GT as it's an RMA replacement for my old 7950GT KO Superclocked so technically it's free and isn't a retail version it just comes in a plain white box with the clamshell with no other parts or even documentation.

That's basically just OEM then. I would also sell it and but that money towards a 4890.

I would want to have it as a back up for testing purpose in the future though. I wouldn't want to be in the same situation I am in now with no extra parts to swap for troubleshooting, plus the fact that I highly doubt I'd get much money for it considering it's an OEM card and not a retail one, not enough to worry about selling it just to fund an upgrade card.
