I would generally say nVidia, but if you're going with AMD, get a board for Crossfire and go with the 3x4890's. That'd be a killer set up

Here's a good build based on what you need. I do not know much about AMD, so I will reccomend you an i7 rig FOR THE SOLE REASON THAT YOU ARE CONSIDERING INTEL.

MOBO: ASUS P6T Deluxe V2
CPU: Intel Core i7 920
RAM: 3, 6, or 12 GB? Let's just say 6. Corsair Dominator 6GB DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
GFX: Out of the 3 XFX 4890 models at Newegg.com, I linked you the lowest clocked and cheapest model, so you can overclock it if you'd like. OVERCLOCKED VIDEO CARDS REQUIRE THIRD-PARTY COOLING. Link.
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-850HX 850W (Modular)
Heatsink: A Prolimatech Megahalem with some San Aces will do you well.
HDD: 2 of these will do you good, just as you selected.

Amidoinitrite?

i would get the asus one as it probably (top bios) has the ability to change the voltage so you can get a higher overclock if desired.

Interesting build you got!! =D You've got me thinking, haha. What do you guys think of this?

CPU: Either I7 920, or 950 (MIGHT be able to get a good deal on one, but otherwise the 920)

MOBO: (I dislike Asus). GIGABYTE GA-EX58-EXTREME LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128361

RAM: As suggested, Corsair Dominator - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145224

PSU: Corsair, either 850 or 1000, undecided atm.

Cooling: Prolimatech Megahalem, wholly cow?! You reckon these things? Done Love the look, haha. The San Ace fans look like they'd be loud, are they?

HDD: Changed my mind haha, going to go Seagate barracuda's, i use WD for external, seagate for internal, never had a problem so I figured the price difference is minimal, I'll stick with what i know (http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/pro...acuda_7200.12/)

GPU: EDIT: I did my research as promised, and have decided that, for now, I'll purchase a single Nvidia GTX295 card, as its proven to have the best performance accross the board.
My biggest issue now is, their fans suck! Is XFX a good brand? Could anyone recommend a brand not asus or msi. Atm I'm tossing up between gigabyte and XFX.
The downside on this GPU is apparently its fans spools up like a jet engine when under load =[ Ah well, cant win 'em all ^^

Still needa find a case for this thing haha
