I thought the 7950GX2 was the worst card ever made for the price.

And I think the 8800GTX was the beat of all beasts

In my opinion, the 8800GT is the best NVIDIA card ever made. Look how well it turned out for them. It even beat the 8800GTX in the majority of games. I remember buying mine for $200 AR at the time. It had the best price/performance ratio I've ever seen. Mine was a nice MSI OC Edition too.

I would say either number 1 or 2. That card changed the playing field. I have yet to see a card that came out and stayed on top for so long and can still keep with the best of them. I am sure that there were others back in the day but nothing beats the GTX/Ultra. IMHO.
