Well I had both, (in different rigs but similar specs) and the computer with the 9200 outshined the 8500, but maybe thats just me..

hmm, well, maybe thats true... i dont know for sure, but i know the 8500 kills my 9000pro, and the 9200 wasn't a whole lot faster than the 9000pro anyway.

The 8500 was ATIs flagship card and the 9000/9200 were the budget versions.

You must be rating their performance at stock, because the GTO(2) is much better than the 6800XT, X800Pro, or 6800GS

ok dude, the 9600xt beats the 9800se and the TI's and the 5900XT. I know this for a fact after much reaserch before buying my card.
