Hello, I would like to send my uncle that lives in peru a new GPU for his micro ATX board. Any recomendations? I'm looking for a GPU (w/maybe a small fan) that can hadle games such as Colin McRae Rally 04', and HF2.
Here is the motherboard http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWebSite...uID=44&LanID=0 The manual of the motherboard states that it is PCI Express 1.0 to 2.3 compliant?? I have never heard of PCI Express 2.3 Will a PCI Express 2.0 work properly?Thx

Even PCIe 2.0 should work good on the 1.0 slot unless its a high end performance card like the 4850X2.

It will be nice to know his rig specs first. What processor and psu that he has now? What's the budget? The 4670 in Dylan's post is good. It is a 60w GPU.

I'm using a Micro ATX board and I'm getting by with a GTX260 shoehorned into my "mini tower." **note** to get my video card to fit I had to carefully sand the edges of the plugs for my SATA cables to gain clearance. If you're looking for a higher end card take into consideration the length of the beast.
__________________It's really going to come down to your uncle's specs including monitor (resolution) and power supply, as well as the total budget. If you're looking for a used card and your power requirements are limited, something like an 8600GTS should fit the bill ($35-50). I used to have one and they love the HL2 (source) engine. A 9800GT would be a decent brand new card with slightly higher power requirements but also more capabilities (approx $100). I'm not versed in ATI but that 4670 linked above looks decent.

I am looking for a basic to decent card, mostly for racing games on a 17" monitor, perhaps a 19" in the future. As far as PSU, I don't know at the moment. But I assume its a standard PSU. 300 watts or less. As far as processor, he is running a core 2 duo, at 2.5Ghz. Current RAM is 2x1GB DDR2. Thank you everyone for your comments, rep points incoming!..
