It's a good card. Not the best by any means, but it's solid, especially for that resolution. I personally wouldn't upgrade your GPU any more until you also get a higher resolution monitor.

Yeah, stick with a single GTS 250. The only thing I really recommend is to OC that CPU. You'd see the biggest performance boost from that right now. Especially at that resolution.

I wouldn't even bother with SLI/Xfire on 1680x1050 --- maybe 1920x1080 or above.

i would stay with a 250 for that res. unless you want to fold then i would get at least a 275

It goes both ways kind of -
1 - you buy a new gpu/sli current gpu and then need to buy a new monitor to enjoy the benefits or 2 - you buy a new monitor and then need to buy a new GPU to enjoy the benefits
