If this is to far over budget id get the 3870 for better performance, or 4670 since it doesnt need extra power from pci-e connectors.
my psu already has pci-e connectors this is not for my sig rig it is for a rig im slowly building

+HD3870

But i tell you what - HD3870 won't run Crysis anywhere as good as a HD4830 - i had them both.. For other games the HD3870 will be good i guess..

4830, good, and Crysis shouldn't be used in the same sentence. Oh well I just did it >.>

EDIT* I didn't realize a 4830 was similar to the 8800gt in performance...my bad I fail

The 3870 is faster than a 4670.

Wait for the 5000 series (And possibly some price drops/new products)

both bad choices when pairing em up with the sempron.

Go with a 4650/9600GSO. Their half the price of the 3870. Either way, you need more cpu power.

If you are going to keep you nForce motherbaord, buy nvidia card, or you will experience crashes with HD3870. Therefore buy 9600GSO DDR2 version - won't bottleneck you cpu, will be much cheaper as well as quite alot slower than HD3870...
