Default Physics Card and ATI will there play together

Physics Card and AT? Is it possible to use a standalone Physics card with a ATI 4870x2 to graphic card or will it only work together with Nvidia cards graphic cards?

Yes it will, you just need to make a dummy plug or hook the PhysX card (as long as it's not a PPU) to another monitor so your machine keeps it active.

A quick google suggests that it should work. Although have you thought about buying something like a second-hand 8800GT and following this guide?

Thanks For the info I will have to do some reading and see if I can pull this off I am red team player but I always want to try this. I just not want to buy a card and have it be a paper weight. I have a 8800GTS 640 just sitting in my HTPC would that work?

Ok I read Ageia Physx the stuff you link me to for the patch drivers. That sound cool since I have a 8800GTS here I think would do the job. I also looked on the bay and seen I could get the Ageia Physx card for like 70 bucks as used pull. that seems like it would work too. If the card I have would work I would try that as its free. I thought the 8800gts card was overkill for a HTPC anyway. BTW I even seen a guy selling the same set as I want 4800x2 and the Ageia Physx card as a set How cool this should work. I play Sacred 2 and at least on other game I know uses it. I heard now that Nvidia is implementing it right on the cards now that more game makers will use it in the future as well.

The GTS640 should work. Besides, what's the harm in trying
You could then grab a cheap HD 4670 for the HTPC, as well as offering HDMI audio and being quiet it's a relatively cheap card.

That's been the problem in the first place. Everybody want to damn much for the 4670 cards my gts card are better cards and you be lucky to get 50 bucks for one and they all want 60 to 70 bucks for a used 4870
