If your TV has VGA then I'm guessing it probably doesn't have DVI, so just get a DVI to HDMI adapter, plug the DVI into your computer, then an HDMI cable from the adapter to your TV. Assuming your TV supports 1080, it will then work. This is what I do on mine (GTX260 on a 42" 1080 Plasma). Works great. The upconvert (that automatically takes place in your video card) when playing regular DVDs is MILES better than ANY upconvert DVD player I've ever used.
