Yes you can. Anyone saying you can't is wrong. Either use an older driver or use modded drivers. A GTS 250 might give better performance. I think HOCP just a had a review on PhysX and which card is appropriate. I believe they used a GTS 250 but I think they only tested with a GTX 260 and a GTS 250.
