Question help me with these cards please !

hello...

I think some of you here read my previous post about the 250 GTS card of Nvidia Asking about it, but now as I called the store to send it to me as I am in another city from that store is, so they told me that they ran out of the GTSs now, and they are going to get another ones soon, and even some better cards as well, but while they get their hands on the cards they talked about including the GTS again, they told me that they have got by now the 9500 GT 1 GB or memory, and the 4850 1 GB, so I don't think I am going to get the 9500GT unless it's better than the 4850, but what I would like to ask is that is the 4850 better than the 250GTS? of the contrary ?

I haven't experienced any ATI before in person, so can you help me compare them ??? I googled them, but all I got is the technical info that is something hard for a journalist like me to understand

and on the other side... I don't want to lose the Nvidia Physx, that generally work only with Nvidia cards, and I think the Physx is important for gaming.

- and please don't start suggesting cards for me, since this makes me cry that the cards I mentioned are the only ones available in my country so far.

and they may bring some LITTLE higher cards as they promised .

so just help me please and tell me, whether it's better to wait a bit and get the 250 GTS, or the 4850 is something like the 250GTS ?

and what about the Physx side I talked about ?

best regards

I would Get the 4850. I am pretty sure it is more powerful than the gts 250 by a good margin.

Physx is not really important unless you play one of the very few games that require it. All it does is add some extra effects. does not change gameplay at all.

The 4850 is just a hair faster than the GTS250. Physx is a no-go with an ATI card, but really who uses it?

This.

The 4850 is an amazing card. The GTX 250 is the same card as a 9800GTX+.

PhysX is NOT necessary for games. It's pretty pointless, unless you're playing games that are uber awesome with it (such as the new Batman game).

well... so in case that I want to play the Batman Arkham Asylum... so do you think I will notice some degradation with the 4850 in this game ???

and how much watts does the 4850 consume (the max) ?

You won't notice any major differences gameplay-wise.

But you will notice that fewer things react to you (like papers moving around on the ground, cloth will not wave, etc.). But it's not really that much of a difference.

The 4850 consumes something like 120w doesn't it?

the GTS 250 and 4850 will be pretty equal in performance but if you wish to play batman arkham, the GTS 250 will be better because of its physx.
Then again physx is overrated.

Dont get the 9500gt, its crap. They just put 1GB memory on it to attract buyers who dont know that its crap.
two 9500gt's combined in SLI cant even come close to an HD 4850.
if 9500gt's support quad SLI, they still wont be able to match the performance of a 4850 hahaha
