If DX11 wasn't so close to replacing DX10, I'd definitely say HD4890. However, as it is, you should wait for a price drop on the HD5000 series, or the GT300. Then you'll be ready for the whole next generation.

I was just pointing out that it was not that similar to the other
__________________ .I have always had nvidia cards but may consider an ati card this time around. Also I am switching from AMD to Intel this winter *crosses fingers*. The x2'd 5770 looks to be a good contender but it might be better to wait and see how low in price the 5870s come when they have something to compete with.

I have had both a 4890 and gtx260. The 4890 was noticeably faster. Great price/performance. The 5770 would be a good option too. Or you could wait, save up, and get a 5870 or something if the prices come down a little.
