5970/5870 crossfire, or even a single 5870.

5870 would be very similar to a 4870x2, the best upgrade would be either another 4870 1GB for tri-crossfire, or (2-3) 5850 or 5870.
Keep it for now, unless you cannot run games at the resolution you are running (which I do not see happening unless you are running games at 2560*1600, because I have 2x 4870 1GB, and they max everything just fine at 1080p).

The 5870, with a hefty OC on it, beats the 4870x2 flat out.
It uses less power, has DX11, and can only get better with future driver updates. I say go 5870.

Get a 5870 or wait for the 5970. Then give me your 4870x2.

Im in the same boat, the only worthwhile upgrade from a 4870x2 is the 5970 or 5870x2...whatever they decide to call it. But then i think what game can my 4870x2 not max out, i dont even need anything more powerful..im saving my money, if i really want something else, like previously said pick up a 4870 and go tri fire.
