I don't know what the problem is but my psu makes whiney sounds when gaming and my fps in some games seem really low like in assassin's creed with vsync on and high settings im only getting 39-50 fps average. In Cod 4 on some maps my fps drops below 40 fps and my psu is really loud. This has been going on for 4 months ever since I upgraded my computer.

4gb gskill 1066 ram
corsair tx650w psu

any ideas?

I have the same psu and have never heard anything like that, sounds like it may be time to rma it. The only problem I've had with mine is the fan went out on it but that was easy to replace.

TIME TO RMA the psu and try running with vsync off as this will limit your frames to the frequency of your monitor usually max of 60 fps. it does sound like the psu if your getting a squel because i just sent a pc power and cooling 750 silencer back for the same reason
