Default all about 295x2 an 5870 purchasing prob

ok ive had a similar thread done by me, but now i have the money to purchase everything and the place where i was going to go, has sold out of EVERY 5850/70 so im left with a choice, wait a few months for a 5870, or buy a couple a 295s, on our graph card rankin the 295 is still better, but of course it costs more with electricity, there the same price both cards, i also have to make the same choice between a 920 (i want) or a 940 in stock, the 920 is unavailable, does any 1 know what u can oc a 940 to safely

so my questions are:

would 295s run well to-gather or what should i do, im impatient

what should i do, spend the extra 400 bucks n get the 940 or wait a few weeks for the 920? is there significant improvement to help justify the price?

Well to be honest, 295's if you got the money, and I mean DX11 wont be that big a hit.. DX10 just came and went. Same for 11.

Get the i7 860 if you can't get the 920, basiclly the same.

Get the 920. I would definitely try to get a 5870 over gtx 295

This is what I would do if I was in your position. Buy a used GTX 260 or 4870 for $130 ish to hold you over. Then drop the money on the 5870 (or even GTX 380 if it is out soon) when the card is available. You can then sell the temporary card for about what you paid.

I would find a way to hold out until you can get the 5870 or the Fermi. A single card/chip solution will always be better than the dual one if the performance is similar. Plus if you enjoy the SLI/CrossfireX thing - a second 5870 or a 5970 down the road for more Crossfire would give you all the performance you could ever want with the current generation of games, and what limited DX11 things are speculated to happen by us.
