Default Which graphics card?

So my graphics card died (I think) and I need to get a replacement. I haven't been too into the tech scene since I built my last computer which was about 3 years ago so I'm wondering what card would give equal/better performance than my last and about how much it would be?

Get a 5850 if you can find one. It's compared with the GTX 285 and it's only ~$280 dollars compared to the 285 which is 350.

i would go dx11 from now on . look at the 5850 or 5870 and the 5900 series will be out this month. alternatively you could wait till the nvidia 300 series is out .

there's a lot of cards coming out atm lol

Im kinda broke atm so what would be a good card for around $100, and in that price range, is there even a card that can compete with my former one?

Around a $100, get a 512MB GTS 250. G92b series a la the 9800GTX+.

Very, VERY great cards. I have two 1GBs in SLi and they beat a GTX 285 together. A single card still maxes out CoD4 on my 1680x1050 resolution screen.

Cheers.
