Best PCI-E Graphics Card, why, and general price?
Best Practical Gaming AGP, why, price?

Best AGP card is the HD3850/4670. (similar performance)

Prices are $109.99 for the 4670
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131161

$88.99 for the 3850
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102730

Nvidia stopped producing AGP cards with the 7 series and as such, no AGP card on their side can even compare with ATI's.

The "best" PCI-e card in terms of performance is the GTX295.
Prices are $474.99 right now (Before MIR)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-116-_-Product

Best "practical" gaming AGP would be the 3850, assuming you have a decent CPU.

Best "practical" gaming PCI-e...that's a wide topic...

Interestingly, apparently due to superior scaling, if you put two 5870s in CFX against two 295s in Quad-SLI, supposedly the 5870s will win.

So the highest end category is kind of debatable as well.

in terms of 'card' singular the best is GTX 295 for pci-e

wha tthe first guy said for AGP or possibly a 6800gt ?

if you get a 6800xt for your AGP you can unlock shaders and overclock pretty well especially with bios flashing

And a 6800 is faster than a 4670? I highly doubt it

But of course it is important to note that the 295 is 2 gpus, if someone is very new to this.

Not even close. A 4670 or a 3850 is more than twice as fast as any 6800
The 4670/3850 also has the advantage of HD movie acceleration.

Thanks for the reviews guys - will add the 4670 to my list of AGP unless I get a PCI-E mobo (will ask about these in another thread)
