Well I know that there's such thing as hybrid SLI where the onboard graphics chipset can help the dedicated GPU right? Now of course I know this isn't even in the same ballpark as two of the same cards in SLI but here is my idea: If the dedicated GPU and onboard graphics can be told to work together, could they make two different types of graphics cards work together?
EX. You own a GTX 285 such as I do, but you have your old 9800GTX+ laying around, you plug that baby in and you might see a 10-30?% increase in FPS What are your thoughts on this?

There are loads of things that are going on with that. ATI has a hybrid Crossfire with like integrated chips. They also have mix and match sort of things within the series, but the cards clock down to match.

Just grab a MSI Big Bang with a Lucid Hydra 200 chip in it, and you'll be all good.

9800 GTX+ would be awesome for PhysX, but probably extreme overkill
![]() To me it wouldn't be worth it to try it. Not enough gain. But it'd be awesome to gloat about
