Default Power vs Cooling

Hi,

Which one of these cards would be generally better?
Sapphire Radeon HD4870 Vapor-X 2GB DDR5
Asus Geforce GTX 275 896MB DDR3 Dual

The Sapphire one has much better cooling, is quieter and has more ram.
The Asus has better performance but runs hot and is 50$ more than the Sapphire card.

I don't plan to renew my graphics card every month or 2, and i'll be playing at 1920x1080 resolution.

I have the HAF 922 case (for cooling reference).

Do you think i should go for the performance with the 275 or for the cooling with 4870?

Thank you.

Performance. Its easier to cool rather than try to gain power. And HAF is a very good case with cooling options, you should be fine with that.

Either one should run good. The 275 will beat it but the 4870 does have a lot of DDR5 memory to help at higher resolutions. I will vote for the cheaper one. The 4870

Buy a Sapphire HD 4890 Vapor-X. It's the best of both worlds and probably cheaper than the GTX 275.

Forgot also that the 4870 has native HDMI while the 275 only has DVI output with a converter.
My monitor has HDMI so does using a converter affect quality?

Oh and where i live, not all cards are available, and these are the best 2 in my price range.

Buy online if you can, you'll get way more bang for your buck. Another notable feature of the HD 4870 is on-board audio.

I can't
Shipping costs are too much (the price will double).

Buying a ticket to the US, and coming back with the card almost seems like a feasible option.
