I took everything apart today to reapply thermalpaste and dust it out. In my haste, i snapped one of the clamps off from my PCI-E slot.. I didn't think much of it, I put the cards back in brought it upstairs plugged it in..
__________________Im turning on my pc and it's fine but I can't get any video.. When I plug my monitors into the cards they turn on, say no signal and then turn off.. Is this because the card that used to be in that slot was the "main monitor" with the nvidia settings, and now that the clamps broken it's not recognizing or something? I have tried all of the four ports on both of my cards and cannot get any video. I don't really know what to do at this point, today has just been a series of unfortunate events. If I do need to buy a new mobo. Can anyone make a reccomendation, I may finally be able to OC past 3.0 with something new.

Generally that clip is not essential, although it really helps. So long as the screw for the card is reasonably tight, you should be ok. The SLI cable across the top might even help with support.
![]() That said, if you were thinking about a new mobo already, maybe this is a sign. I have unfortunately been paying little attention to board advancements lately, so I can't really make any suggestions as to which one to buy. Sweet gfx set up by the way.

Sorry - lost the plot and didn't answer your question.
Try running it with just one of your cards at a time - it might help narrow down the troubleshooting.

. Do you have any ideas then why the video may not be working. I triple checked everything, could it be that I switched the place of the cards, will that matter? I didn't think the system could differentiate between the two once they were taken out and put back in.

This is stretching my knowledge base, but I reckon if the cards are identical, switching them shouldn't make a difference. Even if they're not the same, it should at least post.
Go with the one-at-a-time mission, see what you find.

Switched them around, nothing is working. Should I just try one card now?

Tried one at a time. Nothing, no video.

Go to one at a time to make sure that one of the cards didn't "wakeup dead". Also, clearing the cmos might help if you haven't done that yet. Also, make sure all your power connectors are tightly set. I know it sounds dumb, but I've done it before.
