Default GTX 260 SLI or upgrade..

Well, I am looking to beef up my system.
Once I get my new system up and running, I would like to upgrade my graphics.
What do you guys think here...

I am looking for a significant performance increase, but at the same time, being cost aware.

I currently have a 260 Core 216 Superclocked.

I could get another card for 190 or less. I then could SLI these together. Right now I overclock the superclocked card

Or...

I could upgrade to something else.

According to our graphics card thread:
http://www.overclock.net/graphics-ca...time-last.html

THe cards ahead of me are:
Geforce GTX295 1792MB
Radeon HD4870X2 2GB
Radeon HD5870 1GB
Radeon HD5850 1GB
Radeon HD4850X2 2GB
Geforce GTX285 2GB
Geforce GTX285 1GB
Radeon HD4890 2GB
Radeon HD4890 1GB
Radeon HD4850X2 1GB
Geforce GTX 275 1792MB
Geforce GTX 280 1GB
Geforce GTX 275 896MB
Geforce 9800GX2 1GB
Geforce GTX 260 1792MB
Radeon HD4870 1GB
Geforce GTX 260-216 896MB

What do you think would be the best bang for buck?

The first thing I looked at was the 295, but that thing is anywhere from 400 to 500 bucks.

Should I wait till prices come down a bit before looking and just go with a SLI?
I could sell my current card to help with the cost of the upgrade.

Best bang for the buck that's better than the 260, currently, probably the 5850.

260's are pretty cheap. I'd find one used or something and go for SLI.

You can pick up a used 260 216 for about $140 or less used.

Definitely the best thing you'll be able to get.

What are you playing that you really need a gpu upgrade? I'm not disbelieving that you need one just curious.

I second getting a used 216 for $130-140ish. My 216's still kill pretty much everything, but Crysis benches.

I was in the same boat you were about 3 months ago. I decided to SLI my GTX 260's and never regreted it. Insane performance. Never had a game that it couldnt destroy. It's essentially equivalent to a GTX 295 if your running a game with good SLI support such as crysis. The best bang for your buck guaranteed.
