Ok, so I sold my 4870 to Deviance here on OCN and now I have to choose a new card I want.
I don't really know if I should or if it's worth it to dish out the money for a DX11 card when DX10/10.1 cards are more powerful for my buck. I only have $110 right now so I can't get anything this second. I will be using the card I buy until AT LEAST summer of 2010. I think the sweet spot is like $165-200 for me, because I am never spending $300 or more on a graphics card EVER AGAIN. I game on my monitor in my sig rig.

Whilst the DX11 cards may be a bit more expensive and have less bang for your buck, you'll regret it soon if you don't. At this point in time, buying a DX10/.1 card instead of a DX11 card would be a silly move, you'd just end up upgrading later on and losing money on the card, not that the DX11 cards will go down in price so significantly for a little while.
Not sure what you Americans can get for $200, but I think even my XFX GTX260 was more than £120.

You can get a Radeon 5770 for $170. About the same performance as the 4870, but with DX11 support. The next step up is the 5850, and it costs ~$300.

Direct x11 games won't be out til later the year so i wouldn't worry unless you wanna buy Dirt 2 and play Direct x 11 cuz that's the only game i know that will HAVE dx11 . I wonder if Crysis 2 is gonna be having dx11 later the year too?

Whoa...2 of turbine's games are going to be dx11? Awesome! I didn't know that Turbine was taking that kind of initiative. Anyways, I'd recommend the 5770, as it is fairly cheap and has dx11 and crossfire capability.

You could get HD5770 although its a bit slower than HD4870 ATI said that in december they will release some new drivers that will "unleash" the true power of the 5xxx series.

I would, at this moment, definitely go the DX11 route

I would say 5770, and they scale quite well in xfire!
