Default How much better is the X1900XT over 7900GT?

Percentage wise, how much do you think a X1900XT (NOT XTX) would do over 7900GT (NOT GTX). And the 7900GT is best bang for the $$$ right?

not by much.. 7900GT is a 90nm 7800GTX basically, but it scores slightly higher.

so getting the 7900gt for around $300-$320 is better than getting the X1900XT @ $400+, I mean 10FPS better is not worth the extra $100 right?

Don't always look at it like 10 FPS right now. What about all of those shader pipelines that the X1900XT has? Those could translate into something incredible in high texture games down the line. There are different strengths and weaknesses to each.

I think its safe to say that right now, the 7900GT is a much better performer for its price and no matter how much better the X1900 does in a few years, the 7900GT will still have cost less to you so you could upgrade something else as well.....

IMHO go with the 7900GT(for less $$), There are going to be some excellent drivers for them shortly to release thier true potential.

I'd have to jump on the bandwagon aswell, just get the 7900GT, it'd just be the better choice.

If there were only a 50 bucks premium for the 1900XT I'd go for it. I think 48 pipes are a nice thing to have, and preety much all XTs OC to XTX speed.

The 1900's dont have 48 pipes.. They have 16 pipes and 48 shaders... People seem to get those confused alot.. And I can gaurantee the 7900GT will 7900GTX speeds pretty easily, considering its 90nm.. But the 7900GT is just the better value.

the X1900 series does not have 48 pipelines. it has 48 pixel processors but still retains 16 pipelines, same as the X1800 series.

anyway, 7900GT all the way! That price is awesome for the kind of performance you get. then, later down the road, when prices go down even more, slap in another one for SLI.
