Default Need Volt Mod Supply Links

Would someone link me to the supplies needed to do the volt mod below?
Including the soldering iron, solder, and whatever else I may need. I've never done a volt mod that required soldering.

Voltage regulators for volt-mods? Electronic components can be found at Radio Shack, stereo stores, or online at like digikey.com or mouser.com

You can buy a 20-30w soldering iron at Radio Shack. Do not get anything more powerful.

I'm planning to follow that guide right there, but I still haven't found out what voltages that would lead to on my card. Anyone know?

Bah just buy a resistor and a zener diode and do it yourself , but yes, Radio Shack would be your best bet locally unless there's a specialty store.

I don't even know what a resistor or zener diode are. There aren't any good places to buy things like these online?

OK I am all for vmodding and stuff like that but really you should first get yourself a soldering iron and preferably a old broken component like a mobo or some thing else with stuff that small. Practice soldering first.

Then do some more reading to make sure you know what you are doing. Finding out what a variable reisster and stuff like that are is a basic start.

I am no electricain and I have completed several voltmods but I taught myself on old components then tryied it on my real stuff. I also broke a couple of things doing it.

Yeah, I was going to practice on an old broken motherboard that I have. Then do the actual soldering.

Right here is what you need...

http://www.alliedelec.com/Search/Pro...65BC001355E17F

Edit: This one is better, changed the link. It's a 12 turn which is perfect. You don't want too few turns because you lose percisness, you don't want too many turns because it's just too percise. Anything ~ 10 is perfect for volt mods.
