Default Aaaaaah I Killleed It!!! 8800gt

I think my 8800GT is dead. I set the voltage to 1.3v, which is not bad at all, 1.6 and up is bad. Then I turned my computer on, went into atitool and started scanning for artifacts at 800 core, which also shouldn't be bad. The computer all of a sudden shut off, and now it won't turn back on. I took the 8800GT out, and it booted up fine. What should I do? What kinds of cards under $200 should I look at for performance close to the 8800's? Because i'm sure as hell not going to buy another one.

I'm thinking either that 3850, or the 2900pro. Which is better?

Was it a hardware vmod or bios? It usually takes years for things to be damaged by voltage. Running it at 1.3v for a couple minutes shouldn't hurt it. But if it was a hardware vmod you may have screwed up and shorted something out.

As everyone has previously stated, RMA that sucka! It's at least worth a shot, even if it does get denied, all they can say is NO!

Can you link me to it? It was a hardware vmod, and I don't really know what happened. All I now is that the atitool window started flashing and then the computer shut off.

Man don't give up $200 like this, if it's a volt mod done from the BIOS, try to flash back by doing blind flashing, if it's a physical volt mod, I don't know, find a way to remove it lol.
