My current setup is listed below, My question is, Can I Vmod from BIOS I see that I am able to change the V for both PCIE slots.

Sorry I am a complete noob to VMOD.

EDIT: 750/1650/900 i am using Driver 169.32

no you cant VMOD the cards from the BIOS. You have to do some electrical work on the card itself, although that reduces life span greatly. And anyway....you should invest in a better single card. 2 8600's is kind of a waste. go for an 8800GTS (g92).

SLI'd 8600GT = 64 stream proc's. 512MB Total VRAM.
single 8800GTS = 128 stream procs. 512MB VRAM (with better bus width)

and thats not to mention that 2 of a card doesnt = 2x performance. The 8600GT's prolly score around 7k in 3Dmark06? My single G80GTS gets 11k, and a G92 would get 13-14k (although your processor needs an upgrade, an 8800GTS G92 on your AMD would prolly be around 9k)

You are being beaten by a single G80GTS is all im saying. a G92 is even better.

Just wondering but how in the world were you able to get such higher clocks? I'm at 702/1512/1064 (core, shader, memory) and that's about as high as I can go. This is with GTS's even mind you.

And no...the 8600 series (at least in 3DMark) score roughly the same as a single 8800GTS (G80). I'm about to break 10k 3DMark06 marks...and I'm only on a 3.0GHz AMD rig. With a Core2Duo rig or similar I'm sure these cards would perform roughly the same as a single 8800GTS 320MB or so.

And 2x 256MB cards in SLI DOES NOT equal 512MB V-RAM. It equals 256MB. Figured I'd clear that part up as well. These 8600's are definitely not worth the price unless you get a killer deal on them. Otherwise I'm with you...go for the 8800 series.

it compares to my G80GTS. But a G92 GTS is a different story. and as for the 512MB thing, that was merely for comparison.

Just wondering here...but why does GPUz report that SLI is disabled for you in that SS? And how did you get it to report both cards as being overclocked? Mine says SLI is enabled, and only one card is appearing to overclock.

I payed 90 a piece and I am aware that I could of spent a lil more to eve get the 8800GT 512 version, My plan is to wait til the 8800 seriese drops on price n 90 days and use the step up to run 8800's n SLI. No clue how my 3dMark is that high but its impresice I ran it several times tested it in COD4 And Crysis, I get about 60FPS in COD4 and about 45FPS in Crysis Med Settings NO AA

I bought one 8600 GT from Frys showing as the OC edition but I am positive it aint the OC, had to be an ERROR on EVGA part the other one is from Circuit City that is clearly the correct specs... I'm OC'd in RIVA which Tunes both cards at once
