really depends on the card, and especially cooling, but my 8800GT, which is known to be a good overclocker, gets 870/2255/1100 (core/shader/mem) with 1.32V

What is the recommend voltage to go up to while keeping reasonable temps?

![]() but still no higher than 1.5V (you need some uber cooling for that already) but what i'd recommend.. on normal cooling try at about 1.2V, with better cooling, try 1.3V, with worse cooling, dont even think about it..

Ok so I finished the volt mods on both cards today.

Has anyone done the gpu over current protection mod? I think I will do this because I get sudden blackouts during 3D load accompanied by freezing/resetting. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem.

bypassing the current protection, not sure you could do it.

ohh you meant that.. and yeah.. i get sometimes sudden blackouts etc. what you said even at lower temps, but then rising the voltage helped in it with the cost of temperature rising.. more voltage = less current, if the power (watts) stays the same.. so it would make sense
