ok.. im about to do this mod on my 8800GT.. ..
but i got a few questions, as im not an expert in these things..
if you put resistors in a parallel, then use this to calculate the total Ohms, right?

what if you dont put them in a parallel, instead you put 2 resistors after each other? then you add the ohms of both resistors to get the total ohms? like a 400 Ohm resistor + 100 Ohm resistor would cause a total of 500 Ohm resistance?

What's the original voltage and how much voltage my car G80 8800GTS 320 can handle?

well cant you just measure the original voltage..?

and about the voltage.. i'd say that 25% more should be within safe range if cooling is good

Yes, resistances in series (multiple in a row) add, while resistances in parallel you add the reciprocals, then invert it (the diagram you had).

Can't wait to order my new system and do the mod! Seems fail-safe and idiot-proof enough. (BTW, I am not an idiot)

thnx.. REP+

so im most probably going to do this with 2 resistors (1 variable) in series.. so what would be the recommended Ohm scale? and how many Ohms are needed for 1.25V? (as for the resistor only, not whats measured on the card)

thats what the mod is... there is already a resistor controlling the stock voltage, and this mod cover the installation of the second, variable one. from what i recall, I had the VR set to something in the 300-400 ohm range...i dont have my multimeter handy, sorry

yeah i know theres already 1 resistor, but what i was saying i dont have a variable resistor with that big range, only 1-155Ohms, but i have a bunch of non-variable resistors, so i have to set my variable resistor and a normal resistor to get.. well after what you said.. a ~300Ohm normal resistor, and my variable to get 300-455Ohm variable
