and how many ohms do you have the VR set at now ? I think i have a poor core or memory or something but its BFG so that shouldn't be crap...Its strange that i cant even up it 5mhz no more the core that is :/.
I think all that is left is up it some more i'll see what it does at 1.3v

the non-reference design uses a different scale.. by default the resistance is 775 (or was it 755?) and i had to set the VR to.. uhm.. cant remeber.. maybe it was something like 15000 Ohms

it is now at 1.35v only getting 815core/1120memory/2021shader
--> This is Atitool stable, so 100% good. I dont know if you guys do the scan artifact thing but its much more reliable that way i think.

But im still at the stock cooler, ill buy an aftermarket one probably the accelero or thermalright, maybe even zerotherm and see what it gives at the same voltage. After that ill try 1.4v. I think i will put it maximum at 1.45v and then stop.

Anyone know for sure if this damages your graphics card ?? or is it just temperature related?....

its temperature and voltage related.. i'd say the absolute MAX is 1.5V and 95ºC, but i recommend keeping it at/under 1.4V and 70ºC.. i have 65ºC @ 1.3V.. (i have the Golden Sample cooler that has also been modded)

Well i must say i cant complain about the temps i just use the stock BFG cooler at 65% fan speed and im only at 57-58 load, voltage is now @ 1.35v.
But as i said before on to better cooling first before i go any higher.

Why do you say 1.5v is the maximum? From then on it damages the core or something? Or it doesnt matter how high you go as long as its cooled good enough?

I can already conclude my core is a poor overclocker i have to bump up the volts to high to get any added value :/. But the memory is excellent @ 1120.

Thats another thing it seems a memory voltmod is also possible do you maybe have a good topic on that for the 8800gts 512 ?

Regards!

well, after 1.5V you wont get any more overclocking, just more heat and shorter life.. and for 1.5V and max overclock you need more than normal cooling .. .. at 1.4V and high overclocks this cards heats like hell.. i just added a higher performance fan into my case right under the GPU as a intake.. and the load temps dropped at 1.33V to 55-60ºC with 33% fan!! now ill do some stability tests if i could get it even higher..

Allright...it's Fatherday and figured what a great day to try this mod. I went out and bought all the parts but am having issues. I have made the connections but want to test if the connestions are cool. I bought this multi meter but don't know how to use it. Where do I plug the red and black cable into and where should I set the dial on? I know must be basic to most of you but I am just a dope.
