3870 Vmod Done!
the vmod is done, the bios flashing is not, before mod the voltage test points gave me 1.322v, after 1.41v.
previously before the vmod i have been running a 945mhz core clock with the 1.322v. now the question is, what core clock to flash to first?

Well dont flash anything, try to find your max core clock first with ATItool

cant, 3850 bios on 3870 card, it just locks up. but i am only changing the high 3d clock portion of the card, when it switches it will fail, i will be able to restart the system and flash it back. iv used this system to find max clocks in the past, and it is appearently the only way to do it for this specific card, especially under vista.

No you cannot volt mod a 3870 with the bios changer.
Use rivatuner to clock the card and atitool to test. Make sure it is 110% stable for 15+ minutes since you will be flashing it.

i went ahead and tried rivatuner first, it just locks up on me like everything else that changes the clocks. so i am afraid i must go ahead with the flashing.
