The only way to do it is with a VR and solder, or with the solderless mod (still contains the VR, just...tape instead of solder.

I've also been wondering about this. I'm no electrical expert, so if someone could explain to me, I would appreciate it.

Why can't you do a pencil mod on the G92 cards? My P5E x38 could be pencil modded for less vdroop and so can the HD4850.

From my understanding, the purpose of a volt mod is to decrease resistance to increase the volts yes?

So why can some be pencil modded and some can only be soldered?

There IS a way to pencil mod the memory. google it, and you will find it.

The resistor for the core voltage is so small, it is impossible to get any lead just on it.
