I have the XFX XXX 8600GT 256mb and theres a pencil mod available for it that got me to 820Mhz on the stock coolers... Although Im not sure if your card has the same PCB layout. The only materials you need for a pencil mod are a 2B pencil (not a #2 which is HB pencil). You can also do it permanently with solder and variable resistor, but if your a noob about vmods I wouldnt recommend that. If you could post some pics of the backside of your card (hi-res pics preferably) I can tell you if the pencil mod will work on it

Well i didnt use the guide from your site, but yes that is the resistor i penciled. I tried conservatively doing it first (5-7 lines) but it didnt give me muich headroom. I completely colored the resistor in (even the sides) to get 820Mhz... but it was getting hot at that voltage (i believe it read 1.4v with my MM). I recommend some aftermarket cooling, adn you could definately get that beast to 900Mhz, since I was being limited by heat not voltage.
