Default Need Step by step Pencil Mod

I am a very fearful person when it comes to modding things.

What I am looking for is a Pencil Mod that can give me around 750-800 core and 1125-1200 on the MEM.

I need STEP BY STEP not just " draw on your card --> Here"

Much thanks for productive posts.

If you're fearful of modding things, volt modding probably isn't for you. It is quite possible that you could mess it up and end up with a dead card, or do it right but cook it because it's not meant to take the voltage.

That said, all there is to voltmodding is using a pencil over a resistor to lessen the resistance in that circuit. You would use a multimeter, measure the resistance (ohms) of the resistor in stock form, then pencil a bit and recheck the resistance. Once you're happy with the resistance, you throw it into the computer and see what voltage it yielded. The better guides include what resistance you're aiming for to get a certain voltage, so you can just pencil till the resistance is good then throw it in instead of trying the voltage a bunch of times.

Like cpus, the voltage needed for a certain overclock depends of your gpu. You're gonna have to test and see what the max stable clock is at a given voltage.

And your sig gave me a very evil idea to do try some cpu overclocking (-20*c + leaf blower on cpu cooler)

Its not that I'm FEARFUL, I just don't want to brick a card by just being on my own. Thats why I asked for a step by step. Follow each cautiously, and I should be fine.

It's pretty simple, search google and get one of those pictures of where to shade, then have at it, just note the resistance before starting and change it until you've got the voltage you want. Take smallish steps (say 2-5% of the initial resistance) at a time so you don't unknowingly try to boot at some crazy voltage.

Just like regular overclocking, pencil modding has inherent dangers since you're pushing it past what every component was built to take. As long as you take small steps, there shouldn't be anything unexpected when you try to boot.

And do not attempt without a multimeter, or you have no idea what resistance you're using before the boot.
