I like to use the defogger repair kit as stated by 10acjed, It is easily cleaned off if you need to send the card in for RMA

So has anyone had any success aside from just raising the voltages?

I know my multi meter reads higher voltage, and my temps go up...

Just wondering if anyone has had any OC success with these mods?

I know over at the OP @ xs they have the other mods to get past OCP and such, but it requires soldering, which I would rather not do. But the site has been down for over a week so I have not been able to follow.

When you get a chance you should go ahead and add the OCP info. With a card that puts off heat of this magnitude you will prbly need h2o to get some real results.

I forgot to put a warning not to make BIOS mods in my 9600GT v'modding thread and another member here bricked his card after a BIOS mod. He was perparing to make the VID and VR mod, but played with BIOS first.

I have not done the volt mods yet but I have installed the EVGA water block on my card
it keeps my normal clocked temps under 50 c. loaded by OCCT

My shaders are stable at 1620 but not at the next strap of 1656
I have yet to try to get my core clock higher than 740 or the memory higher than 2600 mhz. (1300 in precision tool)

There is a row of caps. at the back of the card that the WB does not cover, they were cooled by the fan before and now when I OC the card they get hot enough that
you can not leave your finger on them for more than 2 seconds, there is also a chip and a choke by the power connectors that will literally burn your finger if you touch them, gonna need to cool these some how before I do volt mods.

Get some chip sinks like these. Yea, the card will still need plenty of airflow if you're gonna v'mod.

Don't forget to drop us some pics when you're done.

Updated page 1 to include the ocp mod.

People over at xs are getting good results with this, but it requires xtreme cooling. I doubt even a full cover block will do for it.

I have only done the basics, I still value my warranty on this card, it seems to still be one of the top single gpu cards on the market..

Add into the fact that I can run 95% of games I get maxed out and get 80+ FPS I can hold off....
