That's what I'm taking about What clock speed did you hit?

CL3P20: What size tip are you using for those mods? I'm considering modding mine, or finding a point for a few 4890's that may be joining my household

I use a 1mm needle point...finest tip Hakko makes for my solder station..great for G92 mods [tight little buggers to nail with a large tip]. It makes light work of most all mods..very precise.

As for temps..I will run max clocks at max voltage on water..once that limit is established..its onto my chiller for some -50c action...1.3v is a breeze for these GPU's...I want to see what they are capable of with ~1.5v [after all..I push 1.4v on my GS's ..and they only have 2x power phases ]

Can't wait. If they're decent chips, you should hit 800-900 core, and maybe 1300+ mem. I've skimmed threads at XS about homemade VRM boards that look like hell but supply crazy clocks (Hipro's)...I'm considering looking more into that. Never been one for power circuitry, sadly.

Is it worth investing in a decent station? I've only got a few standalone pencils...In need of finer tips

*trundles off, looking for 1mm tips*

well heres a peak at some Red ones that just got out from under my gun...they are in the recovery room as of now

These are running 775core/1160mem for daily use in Xfire.

I have added 3x caps to the GPUv circuit and 1x to the vMEM circuit...GPUv is set to 1.27v idle, and mem at 2.09v. Both have excellent voltage regulation now, and exhibit 0% vdroop under load.
