Firstly hello everyone and thanks for any help which may be given.
__________________Quite a simple question im guessing i have recently purchased a PNY GTX295 which is great but when it comes to powering it its a little confusing..... I went to the pc shop and they sugested this http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Home/Pr...l-850W-80--PSU I baught it on there sayso but looking now it does actuall give the 680w minimum power needed, But the card demands a current rating of 46amp. Which i dont think this card gives, i think from what i can tell with my very very limited knolage it gives a current amp of 36. Could anyone confirm weather this is right or not. I know it is giving enouph power because i am using the card now with this PSU but i am sure there is somthing not right. If it is only giving 36amp will this affect the performance of the card to a point were it woulod be noticable if i baught a PSU with the propper 46mp. Any answers would be very much appreciated thanks.

Actually, it looks like you'll squeek by, barely, if the PSU isn't a total POS. Why didn't you ask the question BEFORE buying PSU? I don't recommend anything other than Power & Cooling, Corsair, seasonic, and enermax.

I'm not going to lie, that power supply isn't that great. It looks like a piece of OEM garbage. You should pickup a Corsair TX650 in the near future.
I think that the PowerCool PSU will power the GTX 295, but it won't be too good for it. Don't expect the PSU to last long.

If the card isn't getting enough amperage, it will either have decreased performance, or just not work right. I'm thinking its as if you undervolted a CPU; you're safe to a certain point, and then it wont work (correct me if this analogy is complete crap
)

Yeh well going a little of subject here but the main thing which made me wonder about power is a realy crappy 3dmark06 score or 19k i have intel i7 940 gtx295 6gb ram and gigabyte x58extreme board which seems a little low.
