Just because the models that look exactly like it (and function similarly, not to mention actually have datasheets on the maker's site) have completely different pinouts (uP6203/2, etc.)

I figured that out from an XBit post, but didn't feel like trusting one source. Link's borked, btw

Okay, that's a fairly common vMem chip. Should have something together shortly, or more DMM-ing to ask.

I'll check. Sounds like you'll need a 10K pot.
Thanks for this. But dont worry if im going to need to solder stuff because i dont have the kit anymore. If a pencil mod isnt do-able dont worry.

Also im not worried about the mem, they overclock fine.

If you are referring to the resistance level from pin13 = 5k ohms...then you will need a 100k VR for GPUv...and not a 10k. Whatever mod point measures to * 20 = final VR size to start with for mod.

If you use continuity to trace pin13 to a resistor or pad...that will be mod point for pencil/solder. ie- pin13 traces to resistor...then you should be able to pencil...if it goes to pad..then its solder only, mmk!?

Ohh...and vMEM is pin6 ->ground...you can use pin3 on the IC, as it is also ground. Measure resistance for pin6..*20= VR size for vMEM mod..ok!!

So i need to find a place on the back of the pcb that pin 13 is connected to? or not directly connected to? And were am i lightly to find this?

Sorry never done this before, and im not 100% on what im doing.

I think i might have just clicked! i can only pencil mod if its a resister because then i can just give give the power a little bypass so slightly more goes via the resister upping voltages?

I could say it was a typo, but that's a lie. Never knew that rule, was just thinking that 5k across the points would lead to .5x original resistance, and 10K was a more common pot

Edit: Need to stop reading datasheets right before sleep, then relying on that info for the next day -.- OP, listen to him, not me

Edit: This I think I can do...

Unplug the card, set the DMM to continuity (or resistance) and put one lead on pin 13, then try to find another point (connected to a SMD resistor, preferably) that measures close to 0 ohms. Anything more than 10-ish is a no-go, and a good point should be well under 5, it all depends on your meter, and the quality of the connections, the connection btwn your probe and the contact, etc.

I'm fairly certain I at least go that right

You certain it's PSOP (I was operating off of the SOP package's pinout...)? I'm not criticizing you, and from above I'm assuming you're right. OP, listen to him, not me

Were should i be looking and what should i be looking at?

Doesnt really matter as both of them are pin3 for ground and pin6 for FB...so only a difference of resistance between the two IC controllers..not actual pinout.

..and for tracing the mod point from pin 13..just use continuity [the beep] on your DMM to trace...then measure for resistance and *20 for VR.

Hurh. Glad you're watching this thread

OP: You want to look for something like these circled SMD devices - The ones I've circled may not all be resistors, you don't really want to shade over a cap. Also, be sure to check both pads.
